The output price index for home sales of manufactured products rose 2.4 per cent in the year to July, compared with a rise of 2.5 per cent in the year to June. Unadjusted, the index rose 0.2 per cent between June and July, mainly reflecting rises in food and other manufactured product prices.

The output price index excluding excise duties (PPIY) rose 2.4 per cent in the year to July. Seasonally adjusted, the index rose 0.1 per cent between June and July.

The output price index excluding food, beverages, tobacco and petroleum rose 2.3 per cent in the year to July. In seasonally adjusted terms, the index rose 0.2 per cent between June and July.

Input prices: summary

The input price index for materials and fuels purchased by manufacturing industry rose 0.1 per cent in the year to July and rose 0.5 per cent between June and July. The rise in the input index between June and July mainly reflected a rise in the price of crude oil, partly offset by a fall in metal prices. Prices of imported materials as a whole (including imported crude oil) fell 0.3 per cent between June and July.
Seasonally adjusted, the input price index fell 0.5 per cent between June and July. The input price index for manufacturing industry excluding the food, beverages, tobacco and petroleum industries rose 1.1 per cent in the year to July. Seasonally adjusted, the index fell 0.4 per cent between June and July.
